Auriol is the Director of the Institute of Welsh Affairs, Wales’ leading independent think tank.
Prior to joining the IWA in late 2016 Auriol was the Director of Cymorth Cymru, the umbrella body for providers of homelessness, housing-related support and social care services in Wales.

Before joining Cymorth in September 2013, Auriol worked in international development for nearly 20 years in 5 different countries, including as Country Director for Oxfam International in Sudan then Russia, as well as for another leading international NGO in the DR Congo and Burundi. While earlier roles included overseeing service provision in humanitarian situations, from 2002 onwards her roles have mostly involved influencing national governments on policy and practice, with a clear focus on the protection of the rights of vulnerable and excluded people, and addressing inequalities. 

Auriol holds a Joint Honours Degree in Modern Languages from Somerville College, Oxford, and an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.
