Remote Working - A Research Overview_front cover

Professor Alan Felstead’s book on the changing location of work will be published on 21 January.

Working at home has exploded across the world over the last two years as politicians have advised, and sometimes instructed, those who can, work at home to limit the spread of coronavirus.

Remote Working: A Research Overview assesses what impact this shift has had on the lives of millions of employees, the organisations which employ them and the societies in which they live. It also looks to a post-pandemic future in which work is carried out remotely or partly off-site – either at home, in the local café, restaurant or bar, or while moving from place to place.

According to pre-publication reviews, it is:

‘An accessible yet thoroughly research-based account of the key issues – from the historical development of remote working, to the forms it takes (including hybrid working) and the implications for people management and quality of working life’

‘An excellent resource for those researching or interested in learning more about remote and hybrid working’

‘A must read for anyone interested in how the changing location of work affects our lives’

‘A concise and essential book for researchers, employers and remote-working employees’
