This session will provide an overview of Open Research principles and practices. We will explore the changing landscape and move towards open research in academia. We will introduce FAIR principles of open research, as well as the benefits and concerns surrounding open research practices. Four open research areas will be discussed in relation to the research life-cycle: open access, pre-registration, code and data sharing, and preprints.

The session will enable participants to identify practices associated with Open Science and FAIR research, to understand the benefits and limitations of open research, and select appropriate practices and tools to support open research in their work.
