This seminar will explore how different visual and creative research approaches can be employed to work with diverse communities.
SRA Cymru and Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD) are pleased to present this free early evening seminar. This presentation will explore how different visual and creative research approaches can be employed to work with diverse communities. There will be a focus on the data production techniques of photo-elicitation, mapping, collage, emotion stickers and sandboxing. There will also be a consideration of visual analysis and creative forms of multi-modal dissemination, as well as the related ethical tensions and fieldwork practicalities.
The speaker, Dawn Mannay is Lecturer in Social Science (Psychology) at Cardiff University and also held the posts of Associate Lecturer at the Open University and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Newport.
Refreshments will be available from 4:30pm. The seminar will begin at 5:00pm and will include a Q&A session.
