Senior communications officer, Katie Bodinger, who is based at Cardiff University and has spent more than a decade working in the media, will join us to talk about how you can communicate your research to the wider world.
Katie will guide you through the process of working with communications colleagues to plan and finalise a press release and helping to ensure it reaches the right journalists. She will also detail how you could give reactive commentary and analysis to feed into the wider news agenda, offer insights into what journalists are looking for, the best time to publicise research as well as some of the things you need to think about when doing media interviews.
She will also be available to offer advice relating to specific research projects and is keen to hear from Cardiff University researchers about any work that might benefit from publicity in the near future.
