The Secure Data Service (SDS) now makes available secure access to business microdata collected by the Office for National Statistics; the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills; and other government agencies. These data are confidential, and collected under statistics legislation. Because they are highly identifiable, they can only be accessed under secure conditions.

This half-day workshop hosted by WISERD introduced researchers to the range of business and survey data available through this new service, along with case studies of how this data is being used in research. Researchers also learned how the Secure Data Service and application process work.
