The Institute of Welsh Politics’ Annual Lecture series has been running since 1999. The Lecture provides a unique opportunity for eminent political figures and scholars to offer a measured and reflective viewpoint on Welsh politics.

Speaker: Dr Hywel Ceri Jones CMG

Dr Hywel Ceri Jones, an Honorary Fellow of Aberystwyth University, was appointed to the European Commission in Brussels in 1973. He served as Director of Education and Training Policy and Director General for Employment, Social Policy and Industrial Relations, and was responsible for launching the Erasmus scheme. He has also served as European Adviser to the Secretary of State for Wales and chaired the European Policy Centre, a Brussels-based independent think tank.
