As part of our capacity building strategy, WISERD ran an adaptation of the Methods and Research in the Social Sciences (MARSS) forum which runs regularly in Bangor University. The MARSS forum was chaired by Dr Catherine Robinson (Director, Centre for Applied Research and Evaluation Sciences (CARES), School of Social Science) and provides a researcher focused and supportive environment for discussion of research ideas and the development of research grant applications.
The meetings were informal but outcome focused. Some meetings focused on specific calls for proposals whilst others were more speculative. Researchers could have a short slot to discuss an idea or a longer slot to present a draft proposal. The meetings took place in a range of venues across the WISERD partnership.
