This event was aimed at researchers who wish to perform basic statistical analysis using SPSS software, for example to create descriptive statistics including charts to represent quantitative data, and to perform basic analysis such as t-tests and Chi Square tests. No prior knowledge of the software or statistical analysis was required. However, if attendees did already have a reasonable knowledge of statistics, the morning session was optional.
The morning session (statistical analysis) was aimed at researchers with no background in quantitative research, or those who have not worked in this area for some time and need refreshing on the basic areas.
The afternoon session was an introduction to using SPSS statistical analysis software. It was aimed at researchers that have no previous experience of using it but wish to develop some basic skills in order to run simple analysis of their own. Some prior knowledge of statistics is required, up to the standard covered in the morning session.
