Rhian joined Cymru Wledig LPIP Rural Wales following a move to the West Wales countryside in 2024, following many years working in Windsor, Cardiff and Thailand.

The majority of Rhian’s career has been spent in the education sector, where she has worked predominantly in marcoms and stakeholder engagement roles, including international student recruitment in Welsh HE, student admissions and marketing in the independent and international school sector, and development and alumni relations positions. Prior to taking up the role at Cymru Wledig LPIP Rural Wales, Rhian was Director of External Relations at a leading independent school in Surrey, and a member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team.

Rhian has also spent time working with the not-for-profit sector, fundraising for international development and educational charities, in addition to volunteering overseas with HIV / AIDS prevention organisations, in her youth.

Rhian is interested in politics and policy – both in a local and international context, having completed her MSc in African Politics, and enjoyed a number of placements at the Senedd and House of Commons. Rhian is a huge fan of professional development, and is currently adding to her qualifications by studying for her Specialist Diploma in Public Affairs, with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, in addition to taking Spanish evening classes.

If you ever need to make small talk with Rhian, ask her how the homegrown veggies are doing, whether her cocker spaniel dog has misbehaved recently (the answer will always be yes), what book is she reading, or about her travel adventures.
