Significant changes are happening in Wales through the development of a new curriculum together with a wide range of enabling education reforms. These are set out in the Welsh Government’s action plan ‘Education in Wales: Our National Mission 2017-2021. In recognition of the importance of Estyn’s role in the success of the reform programme, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education in Wales has commissioned an independent review of the implications for Estyn of these reforms. The Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills fully supports the review.

The review is being led by Professor Graham Donaldson.

It is vital that the review is informed by the views of as many stakeholders in Wales as possible.

The Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD) has been asked by Professor Donaldson to undertake this independent ‘Call for Evidence’.

The ‘Call for Evidence’ will close on the 17th December. WISERD will then undertake analysis of these responses and will report to Professor Donaldson in January 2018.
