The Spectrum Project is a specialist awareness-raising, preventative and bilingual educational programme, delivering sessions on all aspects of Healthy Relationships and VAWDASV (Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence) to pupils and staff in schools across Wales.
It links with the priorities of Prevention, Protection and Support outlined in the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act and Strategy. It also relates to all regional strategies across Wales, including teaching about healthy relationships and helping to embed a Whole School Approach, with all those involved in children’s education working together.
WISERD Education Data Lab has analysed data collected by Hafan Cymru on the effectiveness of the Spectrum Project.
Using data collected from participants before and after each session, over multiple sessions, the Data Lab were able to assess increases in awareness, knowledge and understanding following the in-session training.
The findings, along with recommendations on future data collections, were provided in a report to Hafan Cymru for internal use.
WISERD Education Data Lab has welcomed the opportunity to work with Hafan Cymru in the analysis of this important educational programme.
