This event looks at the benefits of community food systems.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the vulnerability of our global food system and driven many of us to look for more local, resilient and sustainable alternatives. Community food systems, such as community-supported agriculture and food hubs, are rapidly gaining attention because they promise to offer such alternatives. By building closer relationships between local producers and consumers, these systems offer support for small-scale and ecological food production, while giving people access to healthy, seasonal food from trusted sources.
