The Skills and Employment Survey provides comprehensive data on the nature of work, the skills utilised by employees, and evolving workplace practices. It serves as a valuable resource for academics and policymakers seeking to understand contemporary working life and its progression over time. The report offers a unique, worker-level perspective across a range of themes, including:

  • Working conditions and job quality;
  • Skills utilisation and development;
  • Trade union activity;
  • Terms of employment;
  • Flexibility and work intensity;
  • Artificial intelligence in the workplace; and
  • Meaningful work and employee engagement.

The presentation will also address broader employment and skills challenges facing the Northern Ireland labour market and economy.
