Presented by Dr Sofia Vougioukalou

The aim of the session is to explore how wellbeing research, while inevitably includes research relating to the national/UK/international health agendas, is not only about health, especially if understood in narrow medical terms. Using the practice of social prescription as a starting point for this exploration, the aim is to uncover how the notion of wellbeing includes a much wider agenda, concerning, for example, the social or relational world we live in, creative and educational activities we engage in, issues concerning our wider environment, and our access to it, as well as cultural issues concerning, for example, how minority languages and identities are protected and represented. The event, therefore, will address the question: what are the psychosocial dimensions of health and wellbeing using examples from social prescribing in Wales.
