‘The Bridge’ The IDEAL Opera

Earlier this year, the IDEAL team performed The Bridge, a new one-act opera about the experience of living with dementia. One audience member wrote that the opera was “excellent, thought-provoking and needs to be broadcast further.” The IDEAL team have recently launched the film of the English language performance.

About

The IDEAL (Improving the experience of Dementia and Enhancing Active Life) programme is the largest study of living well with dementia in Great Britain. The evidence will enable the development of new policy, interventions and initiatives to transform the lives of people with dementia and their carers.

WISERD Director, Professor Ian Rhys Jones and WISERD Co-Director, Dr Alex Hillman are both co-investigators as part of the project.

The ALWAYs group (Action on Living Well: Asking You) is comprised of people with dementia and carers of people with dementia who advise on different aspects of the IDEAL programme based on their personal experience, skills and expertise.
