Janet is an experienced special needs teacher ALNCo / SENCo and Dyslexia Assessor in primary and SEMH special schools. She has since moved into academia via neurodiversity knowledge and practical teaching experience. In 2021, she completed a PhD on how school dogs could affect working memory and learning retention for young students. Now, Janet assists part time with WISERD projects at Swansea University, IAA and ESRC research projects, together with aiding two Faculty Health and Social Sciences Research Institutes, Public Policy and Planning, and Health and Wellbeing at Swansea. Outside of work, she is a dog lover, Human Animal Interaction advocate and artist.
