Learners leaving Sixth Form before Year 13: Characteristics and Further Education Enrolment

The purpose of this study was to provide quantified evidence to show the extent of both non-completion among post-16 learners attending Sixth Form and of the movement of these learners from Sixth Form to the Further Education (FE) sector.

It provides quantified evidence showing the extent of non-completion among post-16 learners attending Sixth Form. It also shows the extent  of movement of these learners from Sixth Form to the Further Education sector.

The report considers the characteristics of learners who do not complete their A level and/or other Sixth Form courses. The relationship between their characteristics and their subsequent participation in Further Education settings is also considered.
