The eighth lecture in the annual Julian Hart lecture series will take place on between 4.30pm and 8pm on Thursday 27th November. Professor Graham Watt, University of Glasgow, will deliver the lecture, which has the title ‘Include Me Out. Exclude You In: Imagining the future of primary care’.
After graduating from the University of Aberdeen Professor Watt worked as a MRC Research Registrar with Mary and Julian Tudor Hart at Glyncorrwg Health Centre in South Wales in the 1980s.
He completed training in general practice and community medicine, and, since 1994, has been Norrie Miller Professor of General Practice at the University of Glasgow. Graham was elected a Fellow the UK Academy of Medical Sciences in 2000 and the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2014.
His research interests include the epidemiology of health and illness in families, and describing, explaining and changing the inverse care law. Graham coordinates ‘General Practitioners at the Deep End’ capturing, communicating and applying the experience and views of general practitioners working in the 100 most deprived communities in Scotland.
There will be light refreshments before the lecture in the Glamorgan Building from 4.30pm to 5.45pm, with the lecture finishing at 7pm, followed by a reception until 8pm.
