Aberystwyth’s Literary Cartographers: exploring the relationship between literature & place
Wednesday 2 July at 5.30pm—7.00pm, Aberystwyth University Arts Centre
A must-see for anyone with an interest in Welsh literature and local geography!
This event will explore the relationship between literature and geography, focusing on some of Ceredigion’s best contemporary writers.
Dr Jon Anderson will deliver a talk on the relationship between literature and geography, exploring how geographies of fiction co-produce the places in which we live our lives. Followed by an exclusive video from Richard Collins, author of ‘The Land as Viewed from the Sea’, who will discuss his interests in local places and how they have played out in his writings, before giving some brief readings of sections from his novel.
The event coincides with the forthcoming publication of a WISERD affiliated book entitled ‘Page and Place: On-going Compositions of Plot‘, authored by Jon Anderson (Cardiff University).
Commencing with a drinks reception and concluding with a discussion and Q&A session, this pre-conference event will take place in Aberystwyth University Arts Centre on Wednesday 2 July at 5.30pm—7.00pm.
