Behaviour change is a topic which is of key importance to policy makers both in the Welsh Government and further afield. Behaviour change also emerged as a key theme during the WISERD localities stakeholder interviews and the subsequent stakeholder feedback sessions have indicated that a range of 3rd sector stakeholders in Wales are engaging with the behaviour change agenda and have expressed a need to discuss /understand the implications of behaviour change further.
The project used localities stakeholder interview data to identify and analyse relevant data returns; identify patterns and compare/contrast these by locality or domain. Findings were related to current academic and policy discourses.
Research Questions
- How do different sorts of stakeholders in Wales ‘frame’ behaviour change? (rationales, aims, impact and outcomes, opinions, approaches, views on citizen responses and participation, views on policy, views on others’ perspectives)
- Are there particular localities (eg, HOV) or domains (eg health) where stakeholder behaviour change discourse is particularly noticeable?
- How do findings relate to academic debates and policy agendas?
- What insights are there for the issue of citizen participation/ deliberative democracy more broadly?
