Over the past six years, the WISERDEducation Multi Cohort Study (WMCS) has made an important contribution to understanding the lives of young people in Wales, by conducting an annual survey of over 1,000 young people, aged eight to 18-years-old.
A key part of the data we’ve been gathering is around our young people’s educational experiences and over twenty primary and secondary schools from across Wales are involved in the study. In addition to finding out about our young people’s experiences, we’ve also been gathering the perspectives of their parents and teachers.
Who is happier at school – boys or girls? What are the best and worst things about living in Wales? What do young people think about their school councils? This event provides an exciting opportunity to hear the latest findings from the study and to discover how young people really feel about growing up in Wales.
The data from this cohort study and the other datasets we are linking it with, are a fantastic resource for other researchers, practitioners, third-sector organisations and policymakers to explore a range of important issues relating to young people across Wales.
The event will include a working lunch to allow for discussion with our research team and the opportunity to identify key areas for further research.
