This event brought together researchers from across Wales with an interest in research into inequalities. The workshop included presentations on some examples of research undertaken on inequalities, followed by a research development sandpit session. The sandpit session provided researchers with the opportunity to link up with colleagues from different organisations and disciplines to develop proposals for funding focused around transformative research with an inequalities theme.

This was a joint event, organised by Cardiff University, the Wales Institute for Social and Economic Research, Data and Methods (WISERD) and the Office for National Statistics (ONS). This was the first of a series of transformative research sandpit events run by the University, with further workshops being planned in collaboration with external partners such as Cardiff Council, FSB, Big Lottery Fund and IBM.
