Course Leader: Dr Mark Elliot, Director of the Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research

The Safe Researcher Certificate (Administrative Data) was a one day training course provided by the Administrative Data Liaison Service (ADLS). The course focused on UK administrative data, the responsibilities of a safe researcher, creating safe setting and data security, administrative dataset good practice and understanding statistical disclosure control. At the end of the course delegates:

1. Developed the knowledge to make effective applications to organisations for administrative data
2. Understood the legal and security frameworks that surround administrative data research.
3. Gained a basic understanding of how to prepare, analyse and publish administrative data.
4. Had a greater awareness of the range and utility of administrative data in the UK
