Jane was responsible for coordinating WISERD’s programme of events, seminars, workshops and conferences across Wales and the UK. She has previously worked in the University for the last 13 years as Administrator for the Cardiff Institute of Tissue Engineering and Repair (CITER), the Arthritis Research UK Biomechanics and Bioengineering Centre and project administrator for the Cardiff Child Development Study (CCDS).
She is currently working as an Adminstrator to, Help to Grow Management in Cardiff University’s business school.
Jane returned to WISERD in May 2021 following a secondment to the School of Law and Politics. During the previous 17 months she initially worked as the conference co-ordinator for the African Studies UK [ASAUK] 2020 conference which was subsequently cancelled due to the global pandemic and then in the same role for the Socio-Legal Studies Association [SLSA] 2021 conference hosted by the school. The online three-day event attracted over 760 registrations from more than 40 countries, with 25 parallel sessions, 4 plenary sessions, a poster competition and 491 abstracts accepted into the final programme.
Jane holds a BA (Hons) in Librarianship and Information Studies.
Outside of work Jane’s passion is researching family history. She is chair of the Cardiff and Vale branch of the Glamorgan Family History Society, co-ordinator of the branch speaker programme, currently chairs the three online sessions each month and is a local speaker.
